Dr. Saad Shaikh is one of America’s leading physicians. He is a board certified ophthalmologist and retinal specialist. Dr. Shaikh attended UCLA for his undergraduate degree and UC Davis for medical school. He received his ophthalmology training at the renowned Stanford University and then specialized in retinal surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan. Dr. Shaikh is a member of numerous academic societies and has been selected as one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists for several years running.

He’s also taken part in several well-publicized surgical cases including that of a blind 2-year-old war victim brought to the United States who regained her vision after his work.

Dr. Shaikh has trained several ophthalmologists and serves as educational chair of ophthalmology at the UCF College of Medicine. Many of his trainees have gone on to have outstanding careers in the specialty. Dr. Shaikh has served for many years as an Orbis and Doctors without Borders telemedicine consultant for complex eye cases. He holds numerous local and national university professorships and has written several books, book chapters, and over 60 academic papers.

His current research interests include artificial intelligence and nanoparticle work in the UCF Department of Engineering. Dr. Shaikh is available for expert opinions, consultations, and teaching/educational engagements.
